You've just moved in and are nearly settled. Now it's time to make your house and garden your own. There is a lot your can do with the interior of your house but your garden shouldn't be overlooked. If you're not blessed with green fingers try these easy to grow flowers. By choosing easily grown flowers, you can beautify your garden quickly and easily, putting your own touch on that patch of grass.

Common Lavender
Although there are roughly thirty different species of lavender, the most commonly grown type is the common lavender, or lavandula angustifolia. Lavender is a very fragrant flower which is as good at attracting wildlife as it is for use as potpourri. This perennial blooms a vibrant purple and is best used as a border in an arrangement with other flowers. Plant your lavender in a sunny spot during spring or early summer for best results with the plants spaced twelve inches apart. And take care not to overwater it as lavender is extremely tolerant of drier soil.

Pansy
The pansy comes in just about every colour imaginable and the good news is that these flowers are simple to grow from seed which should be planted after the last frost. Although you can choose to sprout them indoors, they can be placed directly in your garden as well. Pansy seeds should be planted in shallow holes and covered with approximately an eighth of an inch of dirt. Water your pansy seeds a couple times a week to keep them hydrated. Don't worry if you don't see any sprouts for a while, pansies are a bit slow. But the pretty little faces make the wait well worthwhile.

Forget-me-not
Forget-me-nots are delicate flowers with blue, white or pink blooms. Simply scatter your seeds onto prepared soil in the area you want the forget-me-nots to grow. When they have sprouted check to see they are not too close together. If they are simply move them a few inches apart. Keep your forget-me-nots regularly watered and be sure to trim wilted blooms.

Geraniums
There are many different varieties of fragrant geraniums in various colours including pink, red and white. Geraniums love full sun and should be placed ten to twelve inches apart. Take care not to overwater them and they should grace your garden for about a year and a half.

Cosmos
Cosmos are similar in appearance to daisies and come in a wide range of shades including pink, purple and white. Cosmos seeds should be spaced roughly eight inches apart in a sunny part of the garden. Keep the blooms trimmed and these lovely flowers should live until the first frost of autumn.

Daylily
Daylilies are available lin vibrant shades of white, yellow, orange and even red. Although they are thought of as spring flowers, daylilies can bloom through the summer months. They should be planted in the sunniest part of the garden, placed twelve inches apart and watered once a week.

Blue Cornflower
Blue cornflower, also known as Bachelor's Button, is a hardy flower that can be planted from seed in spring. This fast-growing flower should provide blooms within eight to ten weeks of planting. Blue cornflowers love full sunlight and should be watered around twice a week to ensure beautiful blooms throughout the summer.

All the flowers mentioned here would benefit from organic fertilizer and light mulch for protection and nourishment. With a little care and practice, you can have a flower garden to be proud of!
